Principia Yoga

Social Media Design · Website Experience · Webflow · InDesign · Canva

Principia Yoga is a Mexico City–based studio that combines physical therapy with yoga to help clients connect with their bodies, practice advanced poses safely, and recover from injuries. They required a new website and an improved social media design to reinforce their branding and convert followers into active studio members.

Project Overview

Design Approach

I focused on creating a calm, organic visual identity aligned with the studio’s holistic philosophy. I drew inspiration from the fluid body shapes and cutouts of Henri Matisse, finding an analogy between his art and the physical practice of yoga. To convey balance and flow, I used abstract shapes and a neutral color palette.

The floating shapes and organic movements were first implemented on their Instagram account through an initial round of posts I designed. Following this, I delivered a comprehensive design kit for their social media manager to easily implement using Canva.

Implementation

The website layout was designed for clarity, guiding users through key information such as:

  • Class types and therapeutic goals

  • Teacher backgrounds and philosophy

  • Streamlined registration forms for easy sign-up

The website was built in Webflow, providing greater control over layout, responsiveness, and interactivity. This allowed for a tailored experience that balanced aesthetic appeal with high usability. Both desktop and mobile versions were optimized to ensure accessibility and maximize client conversion.

Outcome

The final website provided Principia Yoga with a professional online presence that effectively supported their mission. By strengthening their brand identity across all digital touchpoints, the studio can now seamlessly transition social media followers into dedicated studio members.
